A typical session would be structured as:
19:30 hrs - Group assembles
19:40 hrs - Informal ragchew awaiting stragglers
19:45 hrs - Introductions, Feature Presentation
21:15 hrs - 1 1/2 hour work session
21:20 hrs - Identify next venue and 'feature'
21:25 hrs - Light refreshments and departure
It is recognized that there is a need for active coordination and direction to keep projects moving along. Coordination of activities is accomplished through extensive use of email and web pages.
Norm, VE7IVB suggested that we build, as a group, a dual band [ J pole antenna ]. as a test of how we might cooperate to carry out 'build it' type activities.

It is felt that, while MIRA is not in a position to develop a mobile emergency van or trailer for use during civil emergencies, we might build 'grab and go Porta Paks' that hold all the gear needed to carry out a particular communications mode. Such 'Porta Paks' would be compact enough to be carried in a car to the scene of the emergency. For example on might have a VHF FM Porta Pak that would include:
There is some concern that Mira's VHF repeater VE7RPQ is not functioning optimally. This project would seek to address this issue.
